What I am reading now....

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett

I picked up an interesting book yesterday at the bookstore called The Secret Supper by Javier Sierra

Milan, 1497: Leonardo is completing The Last Supper. Pope Alexander VI is determined to execute him after realizing that the painting contains clues to a baffling and blasphemous message that he is driven to decode. The Holy Grail and the Eucharistic Bread are missing, there is no meat on the table, and the apostles, shockingly, are portraits of well-known heretics and none of them are depicted with halos. And why has the artist painted himself into the scene with his back turned toward Jesus? The clues to Leonardo's greatest puzzle are right before your eyes....

Eat, Pray, Love

by Elizabeth Gilbert

Well... I tried to read this book

I either expected more after all the hype or it just isn't my cup of tea.

I read the first section on Italy and her divorce, etc. and I just didn't care. That is how I felt, I didn't care about her personal issues. The descriptions of the places and general life in Italy were interesting and yes I want to go there. I felt I was reading someone's personal journal which I didn't want to do. I needed to move on, I have a To Be Read mountain of books.

Good Dog. Stay.

by Anna Quindlan

A wonderful journal of the life of a dog named Beau. If you are a dog lover this is a must read. It's short and sweet. The pictures are also wonderful. As she wrote I could picture my dog doing certain things.

Quick read, about 50 pages of text and the rest are pictures.

DROWN by Junot Diaz

I finished this on the plane yesterday. It was very enlightening. I don't know much about the Dominican Republic or what it is like to be a US immigrant or person living here illegally. It was interesting the power of the American dream with those in less developed countries and how hard they work.

I would recommend this Author, I may add his other book "The brief wondrous life of Oscar Wao" to my reading list for another time.

My rating 4 of 5
